Hilltop Hot Springs is situated within the Long Valley Caldera, a volcanic depression, and is just a short drive away from Mammoth Lakes in California. Hilltop Hot Springs, or “Pulkey’s Pool,” is described as a man-made stone tub. It is filled with hot water sourced from a nearby creek through a system of pipes. Importantly, visitors can adjust the water temperature using a valve, ensuring that it’s comfortable for their soak.
The higher elevation of the location allows for a longer period of golden sunlight before the sun disappears behind the Sierra Mountains.
The hot spring is surrounded by breath-taking natural beauty. Visitors can enjoy 360-degree panoramic views of meadows and the majestic Sierra Mountains. It’s particularly popular for watching the sunset behind the distant mountains.
